I finished “Semi-real” last week. I want to call it done, but did notice that after setting the chalk pastel with spray varnish, the blue in the sky was overtaken by the green underpainting I had done. The sky and grass now kind of look like the same shade of green, so I’ll probably have to go back in with more chalk now that it’s dry. Other than that, I’ll call it done.

Image description

I still don’t feel confident about the name choice, but I think I’ll post it to the online gallery and see if it sticks.

Image description

I also ended up picking up another painting- just not one I’ve had in my recent rotation. I don’t think I’ve worked on this one in years at this point. I plan to re-work the woman in the foreground’s arms, and have already started carving out more of the background elements. I actually like a lot of it, but can kind of see why I just dropped it . . . ...

In some of my pieces that involve a bunch of smaller, secondary elements I tend to get overwhelmed and kind of lose motivation. I also tend to make a habit of lightly sketching my idea before jumping in quickly with paint, when I do, more often than not, find that a full sketch before color helps a lot with structure. I think some of my biggest hiccups when working on projects come from me rushing into them, then getting too tired to finish them

Food for thought, I think.

The chuck e cheese plaque is going well, and should be finished by the end of the month. The unicorn is going well too, but most of the recent progress on it was on paper, when sketching the body, etc. I had initially wanted this to be a 3 dimensional, independently standing piece, but have since reconsidered. It’ll most likely be displayed on a wall. There will be 3 dimensional aspects, but it will be half a unicorn. I do want to make something free-standing in the near future, though.

Lastly, did some touching up on my galentine’s/valentine’s gifts. Maybe I’ll share them after the fact, maybe not <3

This week: progress on chuck e cheese & Unicorn project. Try to draw every day. Finish shell flower

I ran out of wire and didn’t get a chance to finish my shell project but will probably take a walk this week to get more and complete the stems. It shouldn’t take long.

That’ll do it for me

I appreciate that you stop by

Have a lovely week

Helllooooooooooo

It feels like it’s been forever!! How are you doing? I’m doing well and am glad I took the week off from making a post- I had a lot to catch up on.

Okay so a little of everything I’ve got to share with you!!

It’s been2 weeks of crafting

I made some pipe cleaner cats (pipe cleaners and sequin eyes courtesy of my friend megan <3) These are so fun to make- i’d love to spend some time learning how to make more things from pipe cleaners.

I also went to a seafood boil for the first time and brought home a bag of mussel shells, so I wanted to put them to some use. I cleaned them all and separated a few to use for a flower. To maintain the shine of the interior of the shell I added Vaseline and a layer of clear nail polish. I tested one with gloss mod podge, but it didn’t give the same amount of shine, so I opted for the nail polish. The first picture is how it looks currently, and the second is how I want the stem to look once I pick up some wire.

Lastly, I did some paper mache! And I made progress on the Chuck E Cheese project! ! at long last. The small sections that needed filling felt so tedious, but I think with paste and tissue, I can build it up nicely. After a few more layers, I’ll just have to sand and paint :,)

While I had my paste and paper mache out I also started the unicorn head! I actually got a lot done on the one side. I think I could even have the whole head done this week. No promises, but I would love to make it happen :D

I also got a chance to do some painting. I spent the most time working on “Semi-real”, and I like how it’s going. I think I’m going to make a few changes with the background colors, but I think I mostly like it. I’ll give it another week and call it done <3 Progress on other canvases felt a little less progressive. The untitled sunscreen painting started driving me so nuts, I just painted over her face entirely. With shading, I think I could even like her with a covered face. I’m still at a standstill with Niphetos -maybe I can figure that out this week.

i put together a few small jewelry projects too- I've wanted a necklace that matches my grommet belt, so i put one together :) the other pieces were WIPS that just needed some putting together.

ₜₕᵢₛ wₑₑₖ:

𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘰𝘯 𝘊𝘩𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘌 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵, 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩 “𝘚𝘦𝘮𝘪-𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭” 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘭 𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳.

What more can I say? I’ll post some progress asap

The stay a while page is also freshly updated for February! So take a look at that if you feel like it <3

thank you for stopping by - i appreciate you!!

h a p p y t u e s d a y <3

I worked on a variety of projects last week!

I added to the paintings in the WIP pile <3

I think I was feeling a little overzealous when thinking I could finish all three in a week. I do feel like I have an idea of how I want “Semi-real” and “untitled” to turn out, but am now unsure about Niphetos. I like how it’s coming so far, but the large empty space in the center is bothering me. I considered adding more dancing figures, and forming them into a spiral. I also thought of putting a large flash of light in place of the darkness. Will probably sketch a little and figure that out.

Crossing my fingers that I can make productive and maybe even finishing strides.

I also did some drawing, altering, and bleach painting on apparel.

I have a few pieces I ended up planning more on paper before actually executing. It’s a lot of individual letter stamping so I figured I’d finish it all in one day. I’m planning to finish remaining apparel this week. (This feels more feasible than finishing those paintings I guess :p)

Lastly, I freehanded this drawing of a 1979 Chuck E cheese portrait animatronic. It’s one of my favorite iterations of Chuck’s image. I don’t love how this turned out, but I guess it was a freehand after all. I’m gonna leave it by the trash.

Image description

ᴺᵉˣᵗ ʷᵉᵉᵏ: current 3 paintings, apparel stuff, maybe start the unicorn piece?

Lots of stamping, painting, and loose ends to tie up this week. Between all that I’d love to start on the construction on the unicorn head. I feel like it may be too tall an ask for this week but idk maybe I could just sketch it out or something.

anyways - here's to a late start to a hopefully good and productive week <3

i hope yours is great too

⋆·˚ ༘ * hello hello ⋆·˚ ༘ *

Here are a few doodles, and the outline to an untitled unicorn project I hope to start within the month :-)

The plan is a paper Mache unicorn- structured with a cardboard frame/skeleton. I still have to work out some details, and i have no idea where I'd keep them once completed, but It sounds like so much fun. I've never made a piece as large as I plan to make this one, so I think it'd be a fun challenge.

When the plans start looking more concrete, I'll be sure to share. Maybe in the meantime I'll brainstorm and start some smaller projects. I had a few ideas for personal pieces I'd display in the apartment <3

p.s - the song that inspired my few little doodles VVV

Additionally, I got a chance to do some painting last week !!

“Semi- real” , “untitled”, and I finally put time into “Niphetos”!

I like the way these are turning out and the plan is to finish these 3 this upcoming week <3 It feels like kind of a tall ask now, but the progress I made on these feels tangible to me. The vision of how I’d like for them to turn out feels achievable. Here’s to getting these to satisfactory completion, and to starting many many more.

ₜₕᵢₛ wₑₑₖ: 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩 3 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘷𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘴 & 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘭

I feel like doing some bleach painting this week so along with finishing the three canvases, that’s the plan <3 If I’m good with my time I’d love to do more work on apparel outside of that. Hoping for a fruitful week!

I hope yours is fruitful as well.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by- I appreciate you so much

Hello again c:

(っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ how are you? ♥

I’m fine – here's some painting progress from the week

Work in progress – “Semi-real”

I’ve really liked working on this one. I want to add more texture to the burst or explosion in the background. I also plan to layer on more flames to the ones I started toward the top. More of all that, and maybe some details in these coming days

Image description
Image description

Also more progress on this older untitled piece. Additional texture and stippling needed for this one as well.

Lastly, some doodles I did in my downtime (: I tried to draw the man that was in my last weird dream. Sometimes I think about making posts about my dreams and the pieces that come from them. I'll think about it.

I got a chance to go through my project binder, too. I haven’t really looked through my list of project ideas in a while, and I’m glad I did. It definitely inspired me to carve out more time for future projects <3 In these upcoming weeks. I want harder deadlines and more projects this year – hear, hear.

ₜₕᵢₛ wₑₑₖ:

Painting – “Semi-Real” & finish old untitled piece

Craft – chuck e cheese round wall art

I need to make headway on the Chuck E Cheese wall decal- there are so many other projects I want to work on x_x

maybe I'll hash out future projects in a future post? share some sketches/brainstorming? I can never tell if that'd even be worth sharing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I guess I'll think about that also

i hope the new year is treating you kindly ♡ ♡ ♡

I had a beautiful christmas and i hope you did too ♡

I’ve made a lot of can flowers lately so I thought I’d share <3

My canvas offerings from these past few days:

I did some painting and outlining on “Semi-real” (photo 1). I have some outlining and carving out to do, but I think it’ll fall into place.

I was feeling a little stuck on the unicorn piece until earlier today, but I think I have some ideas now.

also from last week: some dog and cat doodles & added background to this no name collage

... . . .. .. . . . .... . . ..... . . . ... .. .. . . ... . . .. . . .

I went through some of my originals and thought I’d share a few old doodles

ᵗʰⁱˢ ʷᵉᵉᵏ: more painting

Will probably continue on last week’s WIPs. I’m also feeling motivated to add some large changes to a few past projects, so I’ll try to juggle a few.

I hope you have a very lovely and safe new years ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

Happy Tuesday <3

glad to be back!

The fabric garland I was working on is now hanging in my dining room <3 It’s not completely finished yet but I like the idea of adding pieces perpetually. There’s still room on the string for plenty more. I’ll probably find a good stopping point this week and keep it up throughout the holidays.

I also spent time on a few canvases. I have a better idea of how I want “Semi-real” (first picture) to turn out. I’m still figuring out placement and will work on it more this upcoming week.

I’m a little stuck on the untitled unicorn/red bull piece, but will work on it more too.

Finally, I decided I wanted to re-work the face in my untitled sunscreen painting.

between the bigger projects i did a little drawing as well.

i need to practice on realism with more reference pictures, but i love drawing whatever i want most of all.

Lastly, I stamped this headband with the new letter stamps I got from the thrift store :D I love the font and think it’d be cute to color In the letters.

ha p py n ew we e k!

Big strides with the handmade garlands!

I still need to sew up the fabric stars and add a little plush stuffing, but other than that, the only thing left to do is to combine all the elements ^^

These garlands are a combination of scrap fabric, ribbon, buttons, and string- sourced from old pajamas, scrunchies, pillow cases, etc. The cute little line art drawings of the girls are courtesy of an old tee shirt I’ve been cutting up and using for pieces. I should look into who the artist/brand is. I feel like I found out in the past, but don’t remember who it was.

I really like how this is coming out :) I love the colors and textures - they feel like the holidays to me. I also got to incorporate some super cute accessories from Megan :]

Image description

The fabric stars i cut out are kind of small so I’m not sure how visible the details will be once it’s hung on the wall. I wouldn’t mind cutting bigger pieces and re-working if I felt like it later on. So far, i love it though :-)

I also made more tall can flowers this week! <3

These have been so fun to make and are more doable than ever since I got my hands on some cut gloves. The edges of the aluminum can be tedious. I work so much quicker without risking my fingers.

Lastly, I wiped out the pile of collage projects for good!

Finally added the finishing touches to these plaques I’ve been working on. At long last removing them the WIP pile because they feel complete.

ᵀʰⁱˢ ʷᵉᵉᵏ:

craft: Chuck E Cheese project

canvases: Niphetos & [untitled unicorn project]

I think I may want to work on crafty stuff during the week and paint through the weekend? I want to carve out some time to revisit the canvases. I would also really love to pick up watercolors again.

I will make time to do all of these things

thanks for coming with me

happy December ! I’m glad to see you

Let me show you some of the little bits of the paper garlands I started on :)

I started on the “Stew”, “Swan”, and “Apples” pieces. I need to make a few more apples, and I thought about adding some chicken, a potato, garlic and some bay leaves for the stew. I also want to add more accents to the swan piece too so it’s nice and long and I can hang it across a wall in my living room. To make the elements, I’ve been using oil pastels on chipboard and cardstock scraps. To hang the pieces, I’m just using a string from a spool.

I started cutting out shapes for the fabric garland but will follow up with worthwhile progress pictures next week

I spent some time on the stay a while page this weekend too! It's nearly finished for the holidays. Give it a look if that piques your interest <3

Next week: all the projects

The other day I was thinking about my recent artistic endeavors. I feel like I’ve had a hard time wrapping up the loose ends on projects. I used to approach planning my week with a bit more structure, but as of late, have been laying out projects pretty loosely. I think I’ll go back to picking a few specific tasks and progress I hope to make will be given a harder deadline.

I’ve moved away from my traditional projects for a bit and now spend more time crafting than anything. I kind of like it during the holidays- I’ve been able to embrace the handmade charm I love about this time of year. Coming up, though, I'd like to revisit some drawings and paintings I haven't made time for in a while.

I think I’ll spend this week and maybe the next after tying up loose ends and clearing out my WIP pile.

-       More diy holiday décor

-       Finish all the little details on remaining collages

-       Personal apparel

why can't i do everything i want to all the time

More progress next week

Hey!!! I missed you ♡ hi again ♡

My last post wasn’t a typical update, but instead a small tribute to the La Mesa Chuck E cheese location ( if you’re interested c: )

Aside from that , I did work on some clothes too

I spent plenty of time adding to the stay a while page too ! It just keeps getting fuller and I love it. I added a craft tutorial for tall can roses to the page if that sounds fun :-) I really like to try and share unique upcycling crafts, and this one is super doable with stuff I just had around the house.

Image description
Image description
Image description

On the subject of upcyling, I also got a chance to just touch the surface and brainstorm some fun holiday DIYs for myself <3 I want to make a few cute garlands for the apartment and decided to use some materials I’ve had sitting around.

Image description
Image description

I plan to make a few from fabric scraps, felt, and thread and the others with chip/cardboard and oil pastels. I don’t want to go overboard and overwhelm myself with a little season side project, but thinking up different themes was pretty fun. They shouldn’t take too long, so I’ll probably finish at least the cardboard ones in the next few days or so. Of course, once I do, you’ll be seeing them. :)

I didn’t do any painting last week, and haven’t for the past few weeks. I don’t think I’ll force it. It’s not even that I don’t want to, I just feel a little frozen in place when thinking of putting work into a canvas. I hope I thaw out soon. Other stuff ‘til then.

ᴺᵉˣᵗ ʷᵉᵉᵏ: ᴴᵒˡⁱᵈᵃʸ ᴰᴵʸ & ˢᵗᵃᵐᵖ ᵃᵖᵖᵃʳᵉˡ & ʷʰᵃᵗᵉᵛᵉʳ ᵉˡˢᵉ ᴵ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ᵗⁱᵐᵉ ᶠᵒʳ

I’ll be doing more holiday stuff this upcoming week J Working on the garlands, and maybe looking into other holiday DIY ideas? I hope to get inspired for new stuff to try, and will probably put together a short little list to add to the stay a while page. I hope you decide to give a few a try this holiday season if you need heartfelt gift ideas <3 or if you decide to take a look at some of the small businesses I have linked there too!

Additionally, I did lots of drawing on apparel projects, but would like to stamp a small pile of personal pieces when I get the chance.

As far as personal projects, I also hope to make a trip to the library this week and will see what it would take for me to borrow/ have access to a sewing machine! I think that’d be a really cool resource, and will get back on that. If you don’t already, I highly recommend getting a library card at your public library for a myriad of reasons. As if free access physical media wasn’t enough, a lot offer tools and resources that are also available for free. I’d check the website for yours to see what they have to offer. Library bookstores are also pretty much my go-to for purchasing my books when I decide I’d like to own. With paperbacks starting at 50c, you really can’t beat it. support your local library.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a lovely thanksgiving however you plan to celebrate.

I’m thankful for my loving partner, Pina (happy 18th birthday!!!!), the roof over my head, and the car I drive. If you are reading this, I am thankful for you too. If you're not, I'm most likely thankful for you anyway, because other people probably are too. I’m a lucky lady. I’m also thankful I have a working body and eyes and the ears I need to hear this holiday classic.

Happy days

My sweet partner and I visited in the evening and shared a beautiful stuffed-crust cheese pizza together in the presence of the long-standing, iconic animatronics of Munch's Make-Believe band. At the time they did not function or play, but it was cool that the curtains remained open regardless. Seeing the animatronics in all their glory alongside so much the old art and props used around the location gave such a lovely feeling of nostalgia and felt almost like a return to form for the chain. There was so much color and creativity in its presentation- the place was meant for entertainment. Even the outside of the location was adorned with the old chuck logo, font, and sunshade. It was a sight to behold seeing it all lit up in the night when we arrived.

I’m so happy I got to visit before it was gone. I had such an amazing time and won’t soon forget the excitement from such a lively location. Please, eat a slice of pizza in honor of Munch's Make - Believe band.

The link to this locations page on Cheeseepedia – it’s a bit sparing, but wanted to include it anyway for posterity.

Happy Mondaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy

Here’s a look at last week’s project progress c:

I finally wrapped up a few pieces of clothing I’ve been wanting to finish for a while. The list of personal projects always feels bottomless because there are no deadlines :,) Although, it’s always fun to work on bringing a vision to life that’s meant for yourself. For the first time in a while too, I’m altering some jeans I want to draw on and stamp! I plan to test the bleach payoff and see if I like the results. I’ve also got some shirts I’ve really wants to alter by means of sewing, but wasn’t sure how to go about it initially. I don’t mind sewing by hand but think it also may be time to test my hand at using a sewing machine. I don’t have one personally, but I think some libraries offer one to borrow/use so I may try that as an option. Hoping to make some strides in my apparel process that carry past just my personal projects.

I also revisited the collages I was working on some months ago. I recently inherited some cute new beads and put some to good use in finishing some of these <3 (present in the first collage :-)

Outside of my own personal creative projects I also visited the very talented Yako's photography exhibition on Friday at Open Gallery Long Beach. The theme of the night was fleeting memories. I saw so many inspiring pieces honoring the memories that make us who we are. So happy I got to go. Check our this guy's work

Next week: another week of everything

Last week I also spent some time going through projects I used to have listed to my online shop. It made me want to put them out there again (I may have mentioned this previously). Maybe the new year will bring me to new markets and such. In the past, putting focus on the social, monetary, and planning side of things deflated my creativity in a big way, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss it a little. I think in the coming weeks I’ll revisit/refine some existing wearable die laughing projects <3

I do wanna work on a little of everything this week though. In particular, I’m struggling with an old pair of peeling pleather shoes I’d like to give another chance at life. I’ve tried in the past to adhere the peeling with a layer of top coat and paint, but I don’t think it’s enough- my plan now is to just peel them entirely and go from there? So that’s one thing I’d like to get to the bottom of.

I also want to pick up the Niphetos (falling snow) painting again? I’m disappointed that my progress on it has been so lacking. I pick it up, just to put it down again. I feel like I do that with a lot of pieces I find to be a little more ambitious, or involve techniques I haven’t really used yet. I’m simultaneously so excited and overwhelmed I just don’t start. Maybe I’ll re-watch the twilight zone episode that inspired its conception and the motivation will come to me.

I feel like my creative endeavors are a non-stop flow of interchanging projects. The week after this one I think I’ll embrace the holiday spirit and start on some DIY holiday décor <3 I already plan to make a little star garland with some old fabric scraps and probably some buttons/beads. Another project in rotation I’ll be sure to share with you ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

thank you for stopping by - you know i appreciate you

h a p p y n e w w e e k ! ! ! !

I worked on a lot of apparel this week! Some stamping and some doodles. There’s always so much more that I’d like to get done. I’ve been hoping to spray paint some pieces too and just haven’t had the chance. I’m happy with what I managed though J I also altered a few pairs of pants to size and will hopefully work on those too? Not sure yet

I also altered this red beanie I’ve had forever. I don’t wear it a lot but like the new little ears c:

mind the blue water soluble markings that will disappear with the garments first wash after curing ofc but I love how everything is turning out <3 I can’t wait to give these a wash after they cure so I can wear them out at last.

I finished the costume pieces as well! I can’t believe Halloween is just around the corner- I totally lost track of time this month. My initial plan was to take pictures of my costumes throughout the month and upload accordingly but that didn’t go as planned. :’O I'll probably just take the pictures and upload them all together.

I want to figure this out by next Halloween!! I’ve had a taste of putting costumes together myself and now I have so many ideas I want to execute. I may just do some throughout the year as side projects and by the time it’s October again I’ll have an arsenal of niche DIY costumes. You’ll see them if I do.

One I really really wanted to do but couldn’t figure out in time would be of my cat, Pina. I'd probably just add color to a white morph suit and add ears and a tail. She turns 18 next month so maybe I can surprise her on her birthday by sharing her likeness. This is pina

Image description
Image description

I also, I made time sat on the porch and drew some pictures. I'll just share one. It's the administration eating a biblically accurate angel. Doodling is therapeutic. I wish i could draw and paint and make everything i want to all the time.

lastly, i made cinnamon roll intestines for a picnic with my friends Not really a creative endeavor of mine, but will share anyway <3 It's halloweentime, get into it.

Next week: more apparel more time doodling and painting??

I've been feeling a little stagnant lately, Thinking I'll work on a few projects here and there and maybe try to conceptualize something new. With the new year approaching I've had a lot on my mind. I've been considering the possibility of selling at markets again or even opening up the site shop again? I feel like the thought presents itself more and more lately. Time will tell

Please celebrate the rest of the spooky week however makes you happy!!

be safe have fun :-)

thank you for stopping by!! i appreciate you more all the time

𖹭 happy Monday 𖹭

My flights to and from were nonstop and went smoothly- I read “The Metamorphosis”, “Shooting an Elephant”, and “Jemina, The Mountain Girl”, doodled in my sketchbook, and did 5 word search puzzles. <3 Last time i traveled I bought a little book full of them and I highly recommend.

Also- here are some moments from my trip!!

It is so picturesque in Michigan this time of year. I enjoyed the change of pace, and am ready to get back into projects at home

Next week: ᵖᵉʳˢᵒⁿᵃˡ ᵖʳᵒʲᵉᶜᵗˢ, ᵖᵃⁱⁿᵗⁱⁿᵍˢ ᵃⁿᵈ ⁱᶠ ᵗⁱᵐᵉ ᶜʰᵘᶜᵏ ᵉ ᶜʰᵉᵉˢᵉ ᵖʳᵒʲᵉᶜᵗ.

I came back inspired to customize some of my personal apparel so I’ll spend my time on that. I think I want to bleach paint a headband and draw on a pair of pants. I also want to finish more of what’s in the WIP painting pile.

I also so badly need to work on and finish that Chuck project!! I know I’m gonna love the outcome. It’s just a messy process so I think I default to whatever else I planned instead. Let's change that this week.

Also I haven't forgotten the the costumes i just completely fell behind :,O Will share ASAP

Thank you for stopping by!!

I’ll be out of town next weekend so I tried to keep busy during this last week

Sooo I worked on a few unexpected side projects this week- they’re different than the ones I had worked on a few weeks back. I won’t be able to share them here yet, but may eventually do so- I like how they turned out :-)

October is kind of leaving without me; I can’t believe we’re already about halfway through the month and I haven’t posted my costumes yet :,O

Image description

That being said, I am nearly finished! I saved the longest project for last and will be cutting bear ears into a pink beanie for my gloomy bear look. I already started and like how one ear has turned out. Some of the brown thread I use is a little visible which I thought would be cute, but now I’m debating whether I commit to it. Will be deciding on that and finishing up the project asap

I’m nearly finished with the FNAF masks too <3 Customizing these masks was so much fun, I have to do it again. I have a few other costume ideas I’ve been idealizing for a while but only now does it feel like a doable project. When those happen, I’ll be sure to post those as well.

Image description

I finally even put time into my doodle covered canvas! I think I just want to touch up the skin tone on the center character but after may call it done. I still don’t have a title, so this is still untitled. Acrylic paint, pen, and crayon on stretched canvas. All the smaller surrounding characters and doodles are some of my earlier drawings. I think about 2003-2007 <3

I also made some pretty big changes to another untitled piece I’ve been working on inspired by chewing gum. I’m thinking I’ll expand the idea to involve gumballs as well as other quarter machine goods. I want to include some outlines of sqwishland because they hold a special spot in my heart. This is where I’m at now.

Image description

(nothing new on niphetos,,…. ,., maybe when I’m back from my trip)

next week: doodling? probably portable projects :V

I'll probably be keep projects small and fleeting because i'll be traveling a bit. Will definitely bring a sketchbook and current reading material to keep myself busy.

Will see you next time with some costume pics <3

Thanks for stopping by

I really wanted to start on “Niphetos” (falling snow) – I’m really excited about the project and feel like I have an idea of how I want it to turn out, but i think I’m intimidated by it. I feel like I don’t even know where to start.

Will give it more time this week. Probably lots of refining until it feels digestible enough to paint.

While I hesitated over starting it, I decided to instead put time into the last unicorn inspired canvas I wanted to start. Currently unnamed and this is the progress so far.

I still need to add flames to the red bull and will may make the background black the background. I just really want the unicorn to shine through the darkness.

I’ve also spent time on my costumes for this Halloween and wanted to share some pictures :)

So the couples costumes for this year are:

·      Bonny & Foxy (featuring Pina as Chica)

We initially wanted to be Freddy and Bonny, but our plan for the masks fell through so we decided to pivot :.O. I still think we lucked out, though. We found the bunny and fox masks at the discount store for I think $3 each? and we had all the materials to alter them at home :-) I am a little disappointed I didn't take "Before" pictures of the masks- I was overzealous in starting the projects.

Will also be making a small "Let's Eat!!!!" bib for Pina to wear :)

·      King Kong & Godzilla

I have a fantastic King Kong onesie gifted to me from a fantastic friend so I'll be donning that for the occasion. The Godzilla mask is a re-painted dinosaur mask we got for a dollar last halloween.

·      Jan & Wayne Skylar

I have a pair of glasses that are pretty much identical to Jan's so that's pretty lucky. Wearing whatever's closest in our closets <3 I also got a wig to cut into a bowl cut and omg it's so horrible. I wanted to keep the trend of spending as little as possible so it was $3. Naturally, it's not the same at the one in the pictures and isn't even blonde! so idk we'll troubleshoot that or whatever idk

·      Chuck E Cheese & Munch (reprising this one from last year)

pretty much the same elements from last year, except I got a new purple shirt that's more fitted so I think the fit will look extra cute.

·      Gloomy bear & Pity

finishing up a pink hand-sewn beanie, pink fur gloves I'll be adding little claws too and maybe a pink top? Pity's design is pretty simple so lots of improvisation here.

·      Kenny & Spenny

We'll pretty much just be dressed in every day clothing to match the outfits from the episode. I made myself a "Spencer Rice is a shit eating fuck head" crop top months ago. Maybe we'll get a fake nose for my Spenny. We'll see if we can find one soon and for cheap!!

we still need to iron out a few details but first costumes posted soon ;O

Next week: more painting/ costume stuff/ Chuck project

Tying up loose ends for the costumes. will continue to tackle the stack of paintings. Will also hopefully HOPEFULLY put more time into the chuck e cheese project. Maybe I'll put on my handmade ears and use Chuck's ratty rat spirit to guide my project to completion

this and that this and that will try to keep making stuff

thank u for always stopping by

xoxo

So we’ve officially gotten the word: the doors for the mall will be closing October 29th, 2025. ˙◠˙

some bits and pieces of the Westminster Mall, California

(taken from Dec 2023 - September 2025)

These are also just some of the treasures I’ve collected from my time shopping there <3

Saying I'm sad about the mall is such an understatement. I've loved meeting the store owners, shopping around, and even just spending time here. I love this mall. I'll cherish the time I've spent here and the memories I've made. <3

We were told to expect to lose the mall in early to mid-2025, so having to say goodbye at the end of October is pretty lucky, no matter how unlucky it feels.

If you are reading this before the month is up and are close enough to visit: I urge you to do so. There are still plenty of fantastic small businesses that reside in the mall deserving of support. Let’s try to appreciate the parts of the mall still living. <3

Also, if you do end up making a last trip to the mall, try to make it to the karaoke party!! Put on by true appreciators of the mall, you'll be in good company to show some love :-)

(click photo for link to source ♡ )

I thought I'd share a few videos I found where people share videos of the mall, what the mall used to look like in comparison, as well as personal memories and experiences that took place there.

I'm not always fond of the "dead mall" selling point because I feel that it would sometimes neglect to highlight the still-existing small businesses that are still there- but these offer a nice personal touch that still give insight to the stores, the mall's history, and what it meant to those who visited.

I also found a few old videos of the interior during the mall's busier days.

@aohdigital the escalator by the shuddered John's Incredible Pizza Co. 🍕 "SMALL WONDERS", my tune dedicated to the Westminster Mall, is up on soundclound 🖇️ still can't link sh*t on here so just plug "aohdigital" into any search engine 🤞⚔️ . . 🖇️ . 🔎 . 🪑 . . #westminstermall #deadmall #newmusic #indie #hell #crt #animation #homemovies #ultimatelovesongscollection #greenday #guitar #copium ♬ original sound - aohdigital

happy new week !!

I did a little of everything this these last few days. I wrapped up some personal projects I can’t share yet, but will when the time is right. <3 I’ve also been working a lot on my DIY costumes. They’ve been so fun to work on and piece together. It’s made me want to make my own costumes every year, honestly. I think I’ll share the first costumes in my next post? And probably one each post after that throughout October :-)

More personal projects : I drew on a few of my shirts I’ve been procrastinating on for whatever reason. I also stamped phrased on a few headbands. I’m still working on a final one. It’s a bubblegum pink and I want the text to be large and span across my forehead. (will hopefully finishing that in the coming week)

I also drew a little bit. From my sketchbook titled “Tick”

Image description

I didn’t end up working more on any canvases. I’ve had them leaned up against a wall in my living room and they just watch me while I work on everything else. I even started some sketches for future projects instead of working on what’s started :,O I think I’ll give them the time of day this week. They deserve it.

ᴺᵉˣᵗ ʷᵉᵉᵏ : whatever i can do :.)

  •     DIY Halloween costumes
  • Pile of canvases
  • New outlined canvases
  • More time on the clothes I started?
  • chuck e cheese project?

That’s the ideal. In whatever order or way it gets done (⸝⸝๑﹏๑⸝⸝)

I'm gonna get to it.

Also, the stay a while page will be gradually updated for October so keep an eye out <3

Take care of yourself

Thank you so much for stopping by

OXOXOXO

P.S - I added a list on the Barnes and Noble website as well as a youtube playlist of banned audiobooks if you’re interested. I think it’s valuable to learn from challenged literature and censorship. I also think we have to be introspective and try to understand our past to build an auspicious future.

Hey again!

I missed you ! I got pretty sick last week so I skipped an entry.

I spent a lot of time just doodling to pass the time when I wasn’t feeling well.

I’ve been wanting to build a good habit of drawing even a little every day. Maybe I’ll keep up with it consistently and I can post my daily drawings. I’ll try to keep it up.

Image description

I also worked on the chuck e cheese project! I have just a bit more filling-in to do before covering each section with an even top layer.

After that comes the sanding and then ideally paint. The last paper mache project (cat head) I made had much bigger sections and was meant to be much thicker than this one. The layers of progress for smaller, more refined sections are more tedious than I expected, but I hope the effort will come through in the result.

Sooo before I got sick I did get the chance to celebrate my birthday a bit with a day out and cake! I thought it’d be fun to share some fragments from the day :-)

Also I switched up my usual birthday order of Tres leches for a mango coconut cream cake from Paris Baguette. It was fantastic :’) Would recommend them for all your sweet treat needs <3

I went to the Valley Relics museum in Van Nuys for the first time and it was so up my alley. They’ve got a fantastic collection of eclectic artifact: huge neon signs, toys, signs, promotional pieces, etc.

I would definitely go again and recommend to everyone interested in cool, old stuff :D

ᴺᵉˣᵗ ʷᵉᵉᵏ : ᵗʳᵃᵈⁱᵗⁱᵒⁿᵃˡ ᵖⁱᵉᶜᵉˢ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵐᵃʸᵇᵉ ˢᵗᵃᵐᵖ ˢᵒᵐᵉ ʷᵉᵃʳᵃᵇˡᵉˢ?

Finishing/ progressing more on those paintings I started a few weeks back

Updates on those and hopefully more soon.

Glad to be back :)
