lots of new shirts and some flattened cans

    Heyyy theeerreeee

New bits of clothing for both me and die laughing (:

The last 4 are for me to keep and I love them <3 I still need to go over them with a few layers of permanent ink – will likely do that in the coming week <3

Can you tell I’ve been loving the panda stamp I made a few months back? . ..

I really enjoyed getting to do some stamping on all the new blanks I came into recently. I got a good variety of styles and sizes which of course,  I love :] with all these new pieces, I think it’s about time I try to sell some x_x hopefully coming to a market near you? Maybe when it’s less terribly hot we’ll seeeeee

I also wanted to make a little space on the supplies shelf so I flattened a few cans for future projects. The strawberry peach la croix is probably my favorite flavor and also has one of my absolute favorite can designs so I’ll have to use those for something special ♡ ⁺₊𓏵

I also took a long walk and got some reference photos for the upcoming birthday projects. Can’t wait to get some progress and maybe share a little glimpse or so :)

This week: apparel, new stamps? maybe some sewing?

I want to tie up some loose ends on the apparel I started last week, so I’ll likely be doing some stamping and heat setting when I get the chance. I also have a pile of tops that I’ll be spray painting, curing, etc. All the stamping on new apparel has made me want to brainstorm some new ideas for patterns and stamps to make ⋆。°✩

I also want to use up some scrap fabric from the material shelf, so I plan to do a little sewing this weekend ^^ I may need to do some sewing for this year’s costumes too, so I’ll try to get some ideas there .. . ..

    I can’t wait to share !! ⁺˳‧₊♡࿐

Thank you thank you for stopping by I appreciate you!! So much!!!!

some paintings, a finished tote, and more costume ideas

    hiiiiiiiiiiiii <3

    happy new week ^^

    ᗰOᑎᗪᗩY & TᑌEᔕᗪᗩY

The tote is finished at last! I sewed on the last of the details, buttons, and chain. I love how she turned out. I’ve been wanting to put together a collage-style bag like this for a while. It’s making me realize I have a few pretty minimal tote bags that would be so fun to add to in the future. Projects for another day ^^

    ᗯEᗪᑎEᔕᗪᗩY & TᕼᑌᖇᔕᗪᗩY

    Some sketches from mid-week <3

    ᖴᖇIᗪᗩY, ᔕᗩTᑌᖇᗪᗩY, & ᔕᑌᑎᗪᗩY

Some paintings from this weekend  :-)

I want to call the clown painting and the bathtub painting finished but I’ll probably have to sleep on it- I’m not really positive yet. There’s always a point in the painting where I overthink everything.

In the third painting- “and then, all at once” I keep re-thinking the pattern on the mask. I wanted this version to be decorated with kind of abstract flowers made from oil pastel. Sometimes I look at past iterations of this painting and feel as if I’ve overdone it. Sometimes those early versions are truly the sweet spots and you never know it until you've done too much. I think I’ll call her done now, though. Maybe one day I’ll make a stripped-down version. A thought for another day, I guess.

& The cow painting is new <3 just a simple cutie project i'm working on

I’ll also finally get to share the projects I’ve been working on this upcoming week! At long last.

I got to spend some time browsing second-hand stores for more costume pieces, too. I got a beautiful flowy, blue-grey scarf I want to use for my Bloop costume.

At this point, the design of the costume has gone through a few iterations. The first was the initial design, but these are some other designs I thought up.  (excuse the crudity of this model)

I’m really into the idea of using a mini skirt and top over a body suit these days. I think I may just keep shopping around and see what comes together from my findings. I can’t wait to keep you updated :-)

𝕋𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕨𝕖𝕖𝕜: more costume stuff & maybe some jewelry

I’ll be out of town this weekend, but will try to work on some odds and ends from my jewelry pile before I leave.

I’ll also keep an eye out if I end up getting to shop around at more thrift stores, etc for costume parts.

What are you going to be for Halloween? I get so into the idea of DIYing my costumes that I think up new ideas all the time. You can be anything!

Thank you sooo much for stopping by

I appreciate it more than you may know

Looots of doodles, head jewelry, & finished bags

    ᏂᎥᎥ

    happy new week <3

    Ⓜⓞⓝⓓⓐⓨ & Ⓣⓤⓔⓢⓓⓐⓨ

started off the week doodling in the sketchbook ⋆。°✩

    (( first 2 are older doodles, & I felt like including them <3 ))

    Ⓦⓔⓓⓝⓔⓢⓓⓐⓨ

I made a teeny step forward on my pop tab head piece and added these small dangly parts. I also drew up an outline for how I want the rest of the layers to fall. I really can’t wait for this to get a little closer to completion, because I know having this one as a framework will be so helpful in outlining another one  :-)

In a future project, I’d love to make one mostly of buttons and beads. I love how this one is turning out so far, though I’ll probably add more colored tabs as I get further along.

    Ⓣⓗⓤⓡⓢⓓⓐⓨ & Ⓕⓡⓘⓓⓐⓨ

I did a little painting on a few canvas projects during the week.

I haven’t picked these up in kind of a while, but all this work on the birthday project has revived my interest in old works in progress and project ideas. While revisiting these old pieces, and planning what will be some of their final elements, I was reminded of a few hopeful projects, and will likely start them next week.

I also got an idea for a kind of involved future birthday gift. I’m not sure I want to commit to a painting or how else I’d execute, but it would need to be done by fall if I wanted to, so I’ll have a think on that.

    Ⓢⓐⓣⓤⓡⓓⓐⓨ & Ⓢⓤⓝⓓⓐⓨ

    I finished the tote!

Featuring scraps of fabric, buttons and some ribbon.

I thought to add a small bit of chain to the top kind of last minute so I'll be attaching that real quick to finish her up <3

I also painted on some leather bags of mine. The brown purse is my favorite for when I want to carry around a full-sized sketchbook :)

The text on the leather backpack is courtesy of the intro to Maggot Brain by Funkadelic- one of my favorite songs/albums.

This last one was an unfinished Die Laughing project that I wrapped up <3

This week: head jewelry, canvases & new projects?

I’ll be adding more layers to the pop tab head jewelry and doing some painting/doodling. Thinking I’ll start or at least hash out some of those new projects I had in mind.

    Feeling excited!! :D

thanks for stopping by and checking in and i hope you're doing well !!

Chuck e Cheese project, tote bag, pop tab head piece, and my new skates

    Happy new week!

𝙼𝚘𝚗𝚍𝚊𝚢:  Started the week off strong with some motivation to work on my Chuck E Cheese shadow box! I finished painting the checkers on the outside, pasted some color pictures around the perimeter, and adhered some of my personal pictures and memorabilia inside ^^ My goal is to obtain more tickets and tokens to line the inside of the box, but I love how it’s turning out. I also have to drill in a D-ring to hang the tray from the wall, but I’ll likely do that at the very end.

𝚃𝚞𝚎𝚜𝚍𝚊𝚢: Saw Backrooms at a beautiful Regal Edwards theatre. Here are some commemorative pictures.

I also made some strides were made on a few wearables ^^ I added to that tote bag project I had started, and adhered a few of the pieces. I think I want to add a background layer to a few of the cut outs, and finalize with some sewing but that shouldn’t take too long. I’m still without a sewing machine, so I plan to do it by hand.

As I was wrapping up, I did get a little inspired at the thought of sewing a little doll or character to add to the mix so maybe I’ll do that too <3 I also set aside some ribbons I’ve had and may weave those through the strap of the bag, or run them along the top of the tote, or maybe just tie one in a bow on the front. I want the tote wrapped up by this week though, so you’ll see the finished product next week <3

I also finished this shirt I bleach stamped with a lino cut I made. It kinda looks like guts and I like how they don’t all look the same.

    𝚆𝚎𝚍𝚗𝚎𝚜𝚍𝚊𝚢  & 𝚃𝚑𝚞𝚛𝚜𝚍𝚊𝚢:

I finally started on a new metal head piece! I ended up scrapping the last one for parts and started on this one instead. I’ve been collecting pop tabs for a few months now and have plenty to use for projects, so this will be the first of many :)

I loooove the progress I’ve been making. I still have some layers to go, but I’m getting the hang of adding in layers like this. It’s tedious and time-consuming but I’m really enjoying myself.

I also re-worked some old Die Laughing necklaces I’ve had in my inventory. I like them a lot better after some little adjustments. I’d like to do more alterations on more old projects- I’ll probably go through the jewelry I have and see what can be done.

𝙵𝚛𝚒𝚍𝚊𝚢 & 𝚂𝚊𝚝𝚞𝚛𝚍𝚊𝚢 & 𝚂𝚞𝚗𝚍𝚊𝚢: I spent the weekend on some birthday projects <3 I may as well not mention these because I can’t share them, but I love how they’re turning out so much I really just can’t wait to share. I finished the first and the second and third are really rounding out :,) those will be featured in an end of the month/beginning of August blog for sure! ⋆。°✩

I also spent Saturday night trying out my new roller skates outside my front door. I haven’t fallen a whole lot yet, so I think I may be missing the point a little. Not like I’m really complaining, but I think I’ll need to take some risks in the coming weekends. Until then, here's a glimpse of my cutie new skates I thought I’d share with you

    Image description

𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚔: finish tote bag/ face and head jewelry/ paint some purses?

Lots of tying up loose ends and maybe if that ends up feeling really nice and satisfactory I’ll start some new projects I have no business starting.

I hope your week was full of strides and maybe even some risks

    Thanks for stopping by

    xoxo

altered jewelry, costume brainstorm, and some apparel

    Hello again!

    How are you? i’m well.

I altered some bits and bobs that would become charms I’ll be using for necklaces. I got this wide metal heart and single round pink earring from the swap meet that I added some jump rings to. I also uncovered a few unused charms I made probably 2 years or so ago, and added jump rings to those as well. I feel like the long chain pairs nicely because they’re vertical pieces. I like wearing this chain long, but did add a jump ring so it can be altered shorter.

I also altered a chain and leather choker I got from a friend. I never remember to take before pictures, but I really just replaced the lightweight silver chain with some heavier weight black chain.

    Image description

I worked out more details of my costumes last week too. Mostly for the Bloop and Mothra, as they’ll be the most involved costumes, with the most elements to make. Here’s some chicken scratch.

Excuse the crudity of the model. I’ve always loved the idea of making a funky bonnet for myself, so maybe the Bloop costume could be my chance. Still debating whether I’d add the fin to said bonnet or maybe to the back of my body suit? That’s likely a cross-that-bridge-once-we-get-there situation.

It all feels doable now, but likely because it only exists on paper. I haven’t had the chance to check any second-hand shops, but that'll be my first stop. I would like to practice affordable and resourceful costume making to the best of my abilities. Ideally, I spend as little as possible, and maybe try out a new method or two for the execution. I hope in the next week or so to do a first run at a few of the makeup looks I’d need to accomplish: likely just The Bloop and Groucho. I’ll likely post those when I do.

Lastly, did just a little stamping on a few tee shirts. I traced this ice cream design onto a scrap of fabric to sew onto the tote bag project.

I haven’t been able to get myself to finish stamping the letters to the lyrics “I’ve gotta be me” on my striped sweater. Especially with this heat, I don’t plan to wear it- why bother? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Maybe soon. I still have to finish the text on my rain slicker. Although, the June gloom kind of came and went where I am, and there’s likely no inclimate weather in my future. Whatever, we’ll see.

This week: sew tote bag? clothing pile? costumes?

I have all the pieces made for the tote bag, so I'll likely attach them when i get the chance. It'd be nice to stamp those clothes, even if they just end up sitting around. Hopefully will make a stop to look for materials, too.

    see u next time

thank u for stopping by <3
