finishing stamps, hoodie progress and the final layers of the Cec project

    Hellooooo hello hello ❤︎

I have stamp progress from last week :-)

I finished the 2 Aquapets stamps, and i love how they turned out!

    Image description

I did some customizing on 2 of my hoodies in progress, too. These have been such fun projects.

Tomorrow I’ll be adding some drawings to the front of the grey hoodie. After, I’ll do a little stamping, and add more quotes from my immortal. If I have some time I’ll probably spray paint black stripes on the hood too.

I'll probably keep peppering the purple hoodie with stamps and lyrics. I kind of want them both to be covered with odds and ends <3

    ... .. . . . . . ....... . .. . .. .......... . .. . ... . .. ... . .. . .... . .. ... .. . . .. .. . .. .. . . . . ...... . . . .... .. . . ..... . .. . . .. . .. .

    Image description

Lastly, I got the chance to meet up with a local crafting group and added some layers to the Chuck e cheese plaque! It’s really taking shape, so that’s been cool to see. I keep telling myself I’ll finish it in the next few days, and never do. I think I need to go back to enjoying this project instead of just anticipating it’s finished product. I have just a few more additions to make before I start the sanding stage. After that, it’ll be paint, and the addition of a saw tooth hanger to display it on the wall. I’ll keep at it without being so hung up on wrapping it up (although I’m sure I’m nearing its completion)

ᵀᴴᴵˢ ᵂᴱᴱᴷ: I think I’m just gonna do a lot of drawing. I’ll probably add those additional touches to the hoodie projects too.

I’ve also considered a new format for blog entries? Maybe not permanently, maybe not every single week but idk I think i could afford to shake it up a little.

I hope to see you there! And I hope you’re doing well

Thank you for stopping by for this one <3 I appreciate you sm

New stamps and the Chuck e Cheese shadow box

    Hello!!

    Happy new month

I did a little drawing before bed the other night, so here are some doodles :D

    Image description

I also got the chance to work on some old stamps, as well as design some new ones. Mostly small designs with fine details. I loveee making large stamps, but haven’t been especially inspired by a big project lately.

I really love this batch of stamps. The loco coco design from the block headz has to be a new all-time favorite. I also find the panda and the big nosed puppy are super cute. I think the more I practice with these small stamps, the cleaner my lines turn out.

    Image description

okay lastly, i finallyyyy found a good tray to make into a Chuck e Cheese shadow box! I got it second-hand from savers and plan to paint and customize it before adding in my photos :) super excited about this side project ♡

ₜₕᵢₛ wₑₑₖ: finish the last bit of stamps, re-visit paper mache stuff, work on Chuck e Cheese shadow box

Gonna have a busy and productive week!! Can't wait to show you what comes of it.

Also, the stay a while page has also been updated for the new month, so be sure to check that out if you’d like <3

Thanks so much for swinging byyy

    Valentine's celebrations & some projects <3

    happy Tuesday, everyone !!

Last week, I was inspired to work on my chuck e cheese project, and I made a lot of progress! : )

    Image description

I did a lot of letter stamping and drawing on a few articles of personal apparel, too, and finally added a drawing to my pants project. I’m still sketching ideas on them with water soluble ink, but this line art of The cat mcdonald’s toy plush is the first step to many. Hoping to put plenty of time into them in the near future so I can finally wear these out :D

    ᐯᗩᒪEᑎTIᑎE'ᔕ ᗪᗩY

I wanted to share pictures from my weekend travels in San Diego for valentine’s weekend with my lovely partner <3 One of my favorite stops was Balboa Park, and in it, the Museum of Us. There was so much to see, we only got a chance to visit a fraction of the exhibits before we were off to our next spot. However, when we got our tickets for entry, we were told we could get a free complimentary annual membership- allowing us unlimited visits for a year! Safe to say we will be hopping on a train to visit again asap!!

Lastly, thought I’d share a few little gifts I made for my lovely friends and some fragments from our trip to the high desert. It was so much fun- my friend Megan is the best host, and her home is absolutely beautiful. Personalized galentine’s cards and pipe cleaner kitties all around <3

ₜₕᵢₛ wₑₑₖ: work on new stamps?

Complete the final layer of mache on Chuck project!

I want to pivot a little in my project execution this week. I think I may want to brainstorm or even start some new rubber stamps. It’s been a while, and I’d love to start on something fresh. Stamps are probably some of my favorite projects to take on because they’re kind of infinite. Make one stamp and you get the design for always!

That being said- hoping to get to a good stopping point for the Chuck plaque! The final product is in sight!

Also, the blog posts will be more prompt in the coming weeks. The valentine’s plans with my darling partner and best fwends took priority, but I’ll have time for these upcoming posts. I’m also trying out a kinda new weekly schedule (still trying to balance all of life’s to-do’s and stay creative simultaneously) so ideally my weeks stay productive and fluid <3

thank you for stopping by for this long long post

    i appreciate you !!!!

finished "Semi-real" and other project progress

    hiya

I finished “Semi-real” last week. I want to call it done, but did notice that after setting the chalk pastel with spray varnish, the blue in the sky was overtaken by the green underpainting I had done. The sky and grass now kind of look like the same shade of green, so I’ll probably have to go back in with more chalk now that it’s dry. Other than that, I’ll call it done.

    Image description

I still don’t feel confident about the name choice, but I think I’ll post it to the online gallery and see if it sticks.

    Image description

I also ended up picking up another painting- just not one I’ve had in my recent rotation. I don’t think I’ve worked on this one in years at this point. I plan to re-work the woman in the foreground’s arms, and have already started carving out more of the background elements. I actually like a lot of it, but can kind of see why I just dropped it . . . ...

In some of my pieces that involve a bunch of smaller, secondary elements I tend to get overwhelmed and kind of lose motivation. I also tend to make a habit of lightly sketching my idea before jumping in quickly with paint, when I do, more often than not, find that a full sketch before color helps a lot with structure. I think some of my biggest hiccups when working on projects come from me rushing into them, then getting too tired to finish them

    Food for thought, I think.

The chuck e cheese plaque is going well, and should be finished by the end of the month. The unicorn is going well too, but most of the recent progress on it was on paper, when sketching the body, etc. I had initially wanted this to be a 3 dimensional, independently standing piece, but have since reconsidered. It’ll most likely be displayed on a wall. There will be 3 dimensional aspects, but it will be half a unicorn. I do want to make something free-standing in the near future, though.

Lastly, did some touching up on my galentine’s/valentine’s gifts. Maybe I’ll share them after the fact, maybe not <3

This week: progress on chuck e cheese & Unicorn project. Try to draw every day. Finish shell flower

I ran out of wire and didn’t get a chance to finish my shell project but will probably take a walk this week to get more and complete the stems. It shouldn’t take long.

    That’ll do it for me

I appreciate that you stop by

    Have a lovely week

2 weeks of crafting,: new shell project and started my mache unicorn

    Helllooooooooooo

It feels like it’s been forever!! How are you doing? I’m doing well and am glad I took the week off from making a post- I had a lot to catch up on.

Okay so a little of everything I’ve got to share with you!!

    It’s been2 weeks of crafting

I made some pipe cleaner cats (pipe cleaners and sequin eyes courtesy of my friend megan <3) These are so fun to make- i’d love to spend some time learning how to make more things from pipe cleaners.

I also went to a seafood boil for the first time and brought home a bag of mussel shells, so I wanted to put them to some use. I cleaned them all and separated a few to use for a flower. To maintain the shine of the interior of the shell I added Vaseline and a layer of clear nail polish. I tested one with gloss mod podge, but it didn’t give the same amount of shine, so I opted for the nail polish. The first picture is how it looks currently, and the second is how I want the stem to look once I pick up some wire.

Lastly, I did some paper mache! And I made progress on the Chuck E Cheese project! ! at long last. The small sections that needed filling felt so tedious, but I think with paste and tissue, I can build it up nicely. After a few more layers, I’ll just have to sand and paint :,)

While I had my paste and paper mache out I also started the unicorn head! I actually got a lot done on the one side. I think I could even have the whole head done this week. No promises, but I would love to make it happen :D

I also got a chance to do some painting. I spent the most time working on “Semi-real”, and I like how it’s going. I think I’m going to make a few changes with the background colors, but I think I mostly like it. I’ll give it another week and call it done <3 Progress on other canvases felt a little less progressive. The untitled sunscreen painting started driving me so nuts, I just painted over her face entirely. With shading, I think I could even like her with a covered face. I’m still at a standstill with Niphetos -maybe I can figure that out this week.

i put together a few small jewelry projects too- I've wanted a necklace that matches my grommet belt, so i put one together :) the other pieces were WIPS that just needed some putting together.

    ₜₕᵢₛ wₑₑₖ:

𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘰𝘯 𝘊𝘩𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘌 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵, 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩 “𝘚𝘦𝘮𝘪-𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭” 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘭 𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳.

What more can I say? I’ll post some progress asap

The stay a while page is also freshly updated for February! So take a look at that if you feel like it <3

thank you for stopping by - i appreciate you!!

working on apparel and a little progress on the paintings

    h a p p y t u e s d a y <3

I worked on a variety of projects last week!

I added to the paintings in the WIP pile <3

I think I was feeling a little overzealous when thinking I could finish all three in a week. I do feel like I have an idea of how I want “Semi-real” and “untitled” to turn out, but am now unsure about Niphetos. I like how it’s coming so far, but the large empty space in the center is bothering me. I considered adding more dancing figures, and forming them into a spiral. I also thought of putting a large flash of light in place of the darkness. Will probably sketch a little and figure that out.

Crossing my fingers that I can make productive and maybe even finishing strides.

I also did some drawing, altering, and bleach painting on apparel.

I have a few pieces I ended up planning more on paper before actually executing. It’s a lot of individual letter stamping so I figured I’d finish it all in one day. I’m planning to finish remaining apparel this week. (This feels more feasible than finishing those paintings I guess :p)

Lastly, I freehanded this drawing of a 1979 Chuck E cheese portrait animatronic. It’s one of my favorite iterations of Chuck’s image. I don’t love how this turned out, but I guess it was a freehand after all. I’m gonna leave it by the trash.

ᴺᵉˣᵗ ʷᵉᵉᵏ: current 3 paintings, apparel stuff, maybe start the unicorn piece?

Lots of stamping, painting, and loose ends to tie up this week. Between all that I’d love to start on the construction on the unicorn head. I feel like it may be too tall an ask for this week but idk maybe I could just sketch it out or something.

anyways - here's to a late start to a hopefully good and productive week <3

i hope yours is great too

    thanks for stopping by
