a lot of stamping, bleached clothes, and my moral orel project

    Hello hello again

Last week was good- I was able to spend a lot of time getting creative and working on projects <3

    ᗰOᑎᗪᗩY

After work I doodled in my sketchbook and listened to my audio book. I’m finishing up “Lord of the Flies”.

I started painting the outside of the chuck e cheese shadow box! I spray painted the base layer an eggshell/ off-white color.

I used pencil and Poscas to outline tile designs and the colors I plan to use. I’ll probably print some CEC iconography to decorate the outside with, too. I don’t have a lot as it is, so I think I’ll keep my memorabilia and pictures on the inside only. I plan to get more small collectibles to add to the display – maybe next time I decide to treat myself : )

I did some more stamping and drawing on my 2 personal hoodie projects. I love how they’re turning out so much!! I added a few new My Immortal quotes to the grey one, and plan to add more once these are dried/cured. Once I wrap up the body of the jacket, the final step will be to spray paint stripes on to the hood. I might add stripes to the body, but I’m not positive yet.

The purple one still feels like it’s missing something, but I have a few larger designs I plan to fill the space with. I think the goal is to just fill it as much as possible- more lyrics (maybe in a different font), more drawings and maybe some good stand-alone quotes.

I just can’t wait until they’re done so I can wear them out :,)

Not that their unfinished nature has stopped me from doing that, but still. . ... ..

I also made this cardboard cutout of Orel from the show Moral Orel. This particular character design is from a prequel to the show called Beforal Orel. I recommend the show so much if you haven’t already seen it. It’s an older Adult swim classic that is fantastic and devastating. Each episode is 10 minutes long.

This piece is oil pastel and sharpie on cardboard.

It was beautiful outside so I took a really long walk and did some hula hooping at the park

When I got home I made a little bleach mixture and used an extra spray bottle to put stencil designs onto some shirts.

Some of the designs bled a bit- I think I went a little too hard with the bleach. I’ve found that the best practice for a relatively even outline is to spray lightly with bleach, and when the remaining liquid gathers on the stencil sheet (a laminated sheet of paper) I use a paint brush to gather the excess and manually fill some gaps.

    ᔕᑌᑎᗪᗩY

I hula hooped at the weekly city hall demonstration for democracy, and when I got home I spray painted and stamped some older Die laughing pieces. They still need to be cured and washed, but I like them better than before <3

last one is a personal piece - the back was initially blank, but i thought an all-over design would look better.

TᕼIᔕ ᗯEEK: further customize hoodie projects/ more doodling/ etc etc etc

lots i wanna do but no way to put it into words right now! I'm gonna post this and pick up a project and see where it takes me!

I kind of like the idea of a weekly log that is broken down in this way, but i don't know if it'll stick.

    we'll see!

thank you for always coming back

finishing stamps, hoodie progress and the final layers of the Cec project

    Hellooooo hello hello ❤︎

I have stamp progress from last week :-)

I finished the 2 Aquapets stamps, and i love how they turned out!

    Image description

I did some customizing on 2 of my hoodies in progress, too. These have been such fun projects.

Tomorrow I’ll be adding some drawings to the front of the grey hoodie. After, I’ll do a little stamping, and add more quotes from my immortal. If I have some time I’ll probably spray paint black stripes on the hood too.

I'll probably keep peppering the purple hoodie with stamps and lyrics. I kind of want them both to be covered with odds and ends <3

    ... .. . . . . . ....... . .. . .. .......... . .. . ... . .. ... . .. . .... . .. ... .. . . .. .. . .. .. . . . . ...... . . . .... .. . . ..... . .. . . .. . .. .

Lastly, I got the chance to meet up with a local crafting group and added some layers to the Chuck e cheese plaque! It’s really taking shape, so that’s been cool to see. I keep telling myself I’ll finish it in the next few days, and never do. I think I need to go back to enjoying this project instead of just anticipating it’s finished product. I have just a few more additions to make before I start the sanding stage. After that, it’ll be paint, and the addition of a saw tooth hanger to display it on the wall. I’ll keep at it without being so hung up on wrapping it up (although I’m sure I’m nearing its completion)

ᵀᴴᴵˢ ᵂᴱᴱᴷ: I think I’m just gonna do a lot of drawing. I’ll probably add those additional touches to the hoodie projects too.

I’ve also considered a new format for blog entries? Maybe not permanently, maybe not every single week but idk I think i could afford to shake it up a little.

I hope to see you there! And I hope you’re doing well

Thank you for stopping by for this one <3 I appreciate you sm

New stamps and the Chuck e Cheese shadow box

    Hello!!

    Happy new month

I did a little drawing before bed the other night, so here are some doodles :D

    Image description

I also got the chance to work on some old stamps, as well as design some new ones. Mostly small designs with fine details. I loveee making large stamps, but haven’t been especially inspired by a big project lately.

I really love this batch of stamps. The loco coco design from the block headz has to be a new all-time favorite. I also find the panda and the big nosed puppy are super cute. I think the more I practice with these small stamps, the cleaner my lines turn out.

okay lastly, i finallyyyy found a good tray to make into a Chuck e Cheese shadow box! I got it second-hand from savers and plan to paint and customize it before adding in my photos :) super excited about this side project ♡

ₜₕᵢₛ wₑₑₖ: finish the last bit of stamps, re-visit paper mache stuff, work on Chuck e Cheese shadow box

Gonna have a busy and productive week!! Can't wait to show you what comes of it.

Also, the stay a while page has also been updated for the new month, so be sure to check that out if you’d like <3

Thanks so much for swinging byyy

Saying my goodbyes to the La Mesa Chuck E Cheese </3

My sweet partner and I visited in the evening and shared a beautiful stuffed-crust cheese pizza together in the presence of the long-standing, iconic animatronics of Munch's Make-Believe band. At the time they did not function or play, but it was cool that the curtains remained open regardless. Seeing the animatronics in all their glory alongside so much the old art and props used around the location gave such a lovely feeling of nostalgia and felt almost like a return to form for the chain. There was so much color and creativity in its presentation- the place was meant for entertainment. Even the outside of the location was adorned with the old chuck logo, font, and sunshade. It was a sight to behold seeing it all lit up in the night when we arrived.

I’m so happy I got to visit before it was gone. I had such an amazing time and won’t soon forget the excitement from such a lively location. Please, eat a slice of pizza in honor of Munch's Make - Believe band.

The link to this locations page on Cheeseepedia – it’s a bit sparing, but wanted to include it anyway for posterity.

    * this was the video we just happened to see days before our already planned day-trip for valentines, hence inspiring us to make the second stop (great creator btw) *
