more doodles, aluminum can art, & hula hooping

Good evening and happy Monday !!

I had a full week last week

    ᗰOᑎᗪᗩY

I decorated a little trinket shelf for my wall <3

    TᑌEᔕᗪᗩY & ᗯEᗪᑎEᔕᗪᗩY

I caught up on some reading: I’ve finished up Lord of the Flies and Clockwork Orange and have now started on Make room! Make room! By Harry Harrison and Tender is the flesh by Agustina Bazterrica.

I also did some drawing in the sketchbook

((last one is old, i just felt like re-visiting))

    TᕼᑌᖇᔕᗪᗩY

I finished painting the chicken purse strap!

ootd featuring said chicken purse >>>

    ᖴᖇIᗪᗩY

I spray painted grey stripes onto my hoodie’s hood. I think I’d like black better, though, so I’ll be spraying it again when I get the chance.

    Image description
    Image description

I also added more faces to the yellow maxi dress. I’ll probably replicate the design on the back and add another pattern along the left side to better conceal the stain D:

VVVVV the song that carried me into the weekend / great hula hooping track

    ᔕᗩTᑌᖇᗪᗩY

I inherited more cans from Miriah today!! (thank you again <3) My cup runneth over with cute materials so I’ll be using them every chance I get.

I tried something new to me, and used a few cans to put together a framed piece using a stained glass pattern. This is the first time I’ve done this and I think I like the outcome? I feel like it could be a little more structured in its’ appearance, though. I was thinking of adding a black outline to the individual shapes with a marker. I also considered trimming the pieces so that they’re not touching- so then it looks as if it has a white outline. I think that may look more cohesive. I might try the latter

    Image description
    Image description

I also cut up a few cute monster cans in what I hope turns out to be a cute set of earrings and maybe a little charm bracelet? I love the designs on these in particular. I have some ideas, but will definitely be experimenting with materials ^^ I made a few little butterflies, too - those will need some work aswell but I think they’re cute so far ♡ ♡ ♡

    ᔕᑌᑎᗪᗩY

Had so much fun hula hooping at the park. It was hot and beautiful out and I’m getting so much better at walking back and forth while I hoop. I can also hoop while I stand on one leg. It occurred to me that in my first blog post I reference that ability as a goal of mine! Consider it achieved :,O

    Image description
    Image description

When I got home I made this small panda stamp. I still have to carve its’ outline but I think it turned out so cute. I’ll definitely be adding it to my tote bag.

ᴺᵉˣᵗ ʷᵉᵉᵏ: new project? More can art and better drawings

I have a new project idea and I really want to start. It’s another paper mache piece, and while I do have 2 I’m currently working on. . . I’m probably still gonna start it (: will update with progress if I make any ⋆。°✩

I'll keep cutting up cans too, and give some new ideas a try there.

I want to do more drawing as well - ideally drawings i like better because i didn't love what i got from last week :|

sketchbook, chicken purse, & rain slicker

    hiiiii again

    here's a little glimpse into last week. . .. . .... .. . . . .. .... .. . . .. . . . ....

    Monday & Tuesday

    Hula hoop at the park

lots of drawing in my sketchbook. No progress pictures so this is what I was left with at the end of the week.

    Wednesday

Reorganize the fixture holding all my materials.

    Image description

    Thursday

Started brainstorming a new outline for an old project? A bit over a year ago I put together a small wire fixture/mobile to display some old fishing lures I have. I want to take it apart and re-build it in a different shape. Maybe a spiral? I think that’d look so cute when it spins. Probably won’t get around to it this week, but maybe next. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Friday & Saturday

I got a chance to personalize with some spray paint this past week. I added text to the back of my yellow rain slicker. I added some heads to a really long yellow dress. I was thinking of creating kind of a 3D effect by spraying another outline, near the initial, but just in another color. There's a sizeable stain on the side- maybe the heads will obscure it. I only did one side of each, but I plan to add more this upcoming week.

While I had the textile spray paint out, I figured I’d change the color of the strap on my chicken purse. It was initially yellow, but I sprayed it brown instead. I think it goes with more of my clothes that way. I still have to go in with a paint brush and do some touchups, but otherwise she is done ⋆。°✩

    Sunday

More drawing in the sketchbook and a long walk to Wholesome choice.

TᕼIᔕ ᗯEEK: Draw as much as possible / can art / spray paint projects

I want to spend as much time as possible drawing in my sketchbook. these next few days

I also want to make more can art, as I have an influx of cute cans in my possession. (generously given to me by my friend, Miriah.) (:

If i have some time I'll do some more spray painting on last week's projects too <3

a lot of stamping, bleached clothes, and my moral orel project

    Hello hello again

Last week was good- I was able to spend a lot of time getting creative and working on projects <3

    ᗰOᑎᗪᗩY

After work I doodled in my sketchbook and listened to my audio book. I’m finishing up “Lord of the Flies”.

    Image description

    ᗯEᗪᑎEᔕᗪᗩY & TᕼᑌᖇᔕᗪᗩY

I started painting the outside of the chuck e cheese shadow box! I spray painted the base layer an eggshell/ off-white color.

I used pencil and Poscas to outline tile designs and the colors I plan to use. I’ll probably print some CEC iconography to decorate the outside with, too. I don’t have a lot as it is, so I think I’ll keep my memorabilia and pictures on the inside only. I plan to get more small collectibles to add to the display – maybe next time I decide to treat myself : )

    Image description

    ᖴᖇIᗪᗩY

I did some more stamping and drawing on my 2 personal hoodie projects. I love how they’re turning out so much!! I added a few new My Immortal quotes to the grey one, and plan to add more once these are dried/cured. Once I wrap up the body of the jacket, the final step will be to spray paint stripes on to the hood. I might add stripes to the body, but I’m not positive yet.

The purple one still feels like it’s missing something, but I have a few larger designs I plan to fill the space with. I think the goal is to just fill it as much as possible- more lyrics (maybe in a different font), more drawings and maybe some good stand-alone quotes.

I just can’t wait until they’re done so I can wear them out :,)

Not that their unfinished nature has stopped me from doing that, but still. . ... ..

I also made this cardboard cutout of Orel from the show Moral Orel. This particular character design is from a prequel to the show called Beforal Orel. I recommend the show so much if you haven’t already seen it. It’s an older Adult swim classic that is fantastic and devastating. Each episode is 10 minutes long.

This piece is oil pastel and sharpie on cardboard.

    Image description

    ᔕᗩTᑌᖇᗪᗩY

It was beautiful outside so I took a really long walk and did some hula hooping at the park

When I got home I made a little bleach mixture and used an extra spray bottle to put stencil designs onto some shirts.

Some of the designs bled a bit- I think I went a little too hard with the bleach. I’ve found that the best practice for a relatively even outline is to spray lightly with bleach, and when the remaining liquid gathers on the stencil sheet (a laminated sheet of paper) I use a paint brush to gather the excess and manually fill some gaps.

    ᔕᑌᑎᗪᗩY

I hula hooped at the weekly city hall demonstration for democracy, and when I got home I spray painted and stamped some older Die laughing pieces. They still need to be cured and washed, but I like them better than before <3

last one is a personal piece - the back was initially blank, but i thought an all-over design would look better.

TᕼIᔕ ᗯEEK: further customize hoodie projects/ more doodling/ etc etc etc

lots i wanna do but no way to put it into words right now! I'm gonna post this and pick up a project and see where it takes me!

I kind of like the idea of a weekly log that is broken down in this way, but i don't know if it'll stick.

    we'll see!

thank you for always coming back

New stamps and the Chuck e Cheese shadow box

    Hello!!

    Happy new month

I did a little drawing before bed the other night, so here are some doodles :D

    Image description

I also got the chance to work on some old stamps, as well as design some new ones. Mostly small designs with fine details. I loveee making large stamps, but haven’t been especially inspired by a big project lately.

I really love this batch of stamps. The loco coco design from the block headz has to be a new all-time favorite. I also find the panda and the big nosed puppy are super cute. I think the more I practice with these small stamps, the cleaner my lines turn out.

    Image description

okay lastly, i finallyyyy found a good tray to make into a Chuck e Cheese shadow box! I got it second-hand from savers and plan to paint and customize it before adding in my photos :) super excited about this side project ♡

ₜₕᵢₛ wₑₑₖ: finish the last bit of stamps, re-visit paper mache stuff, work on Chuck e Cheese shadow box

Gonna have a busy and productive week!! Can't wait to show you what comes of it.

Also, the stay a while page has also been updated for the new month, so be sure to check that out if you’d like <3

Thanks so much for swinging byyy

holiday garland is nearly done and painting progress

    Happy Tuesday <3

    glad to be back!

The fabric garland I was working on is now hanging in my dining room <3 It’s not completely finished yet but I like the idea of adding pieces perpetually. There’s still room on the string for plenty more. I’ll probably find a good stopping point this week and keep it up throughout the holidays.

I also spent time on a few canvases. I have a better idea of how I want “Semi-real” (first picture) to turn out. I’m still figuring out placement and will work on it more this upcoming week.

I’m a little stuck on the untitled unicorn/red bull piece, but will work on it more too.

Finally, I decided I wanted to re-work the face in my untitled sunscreen painting.

between the bigger projects i did a little drawing as well.

i need to practice on realism with more reference pictures, but i love drawing whatever i want most of all.

    Image description

Lastly, I stamped this headband with the new letter stamps I got from the thrift store :D I love the font and think it’d be cute to color In the letters.

    ᵗʰⁱˢ ʷᵉᵉᵏ

𝖼𝗋𝖺𝖿𝗍: 𝖿𝗂𝗇𝗂𝗌𝗁 𝖺𝖽𝖽𝗂𝗇𝗀 𝗍𝗈 𝗀𝖺𝗋𝗅𝖺𝗇𝖽 𝖿𝗈𝗋 𝗍𝗁𝖾 𝗒𝖾𝖺𝗋

between putting more time into the canvases, I really hope to do more drawing- I think it needs to be an everyday thing.

    Wish me luck

    Thank you for stopping by

I hope you and yours have a very lovely holiday ♡

Marianne paper doll & some doodles

    good evening <3

I spent most of last week working on a paper doll outline

    This is “Marianne”

I like how she turned out overall :-) the current outline is in pencil, but I made a copy to cut up and test. I used colored pencil for her clothes. Accessories and apparel are supposed to be secured by the black and white tabs. I found that a few garments were cut a little small, and I’d need to re-draw the stand, but it wasn’t a bad first attempt. I may make her a little bigger for ease in cutting her from the paper.

I also debated whether to leave her as a bit of line-art or add color to her complete outline. I kind of like the idea of being able to customize her completely.

I figured if I liked the turnout once she’s done, maybe I’d work on more dolls with different names and outfits. I’m considering putting more work into it this week if I have some time.

I also did a little doodling in my down time. Hoping to do a little drawing every night - even if it's not great, even if it's brief <3

next week: maybe work on paper dolls? also probably some painting

I'm finally feeling a little motivation to work on some canvas works in progress, so I'll probably do some painting. Maybe re-size and print a new, better copy of Marianne.

    I need to revisit my goal list "(っ- ‸ - ς)ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁

    thanks for stopping by
